Weather Alert
The Little Falls Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is encouraging residents to prepare for a weather event that may include snow, rain and high winds. The storm is expected to reach the Passaic County area sometime today and continue through tomorrow.
Residents are urged to prepare to shelter in place and not attempt to travel unless absolutely necessary.
High winds and heavy snow could result in power outages. Residents who lose power should call the utility company as those entities maintain essential data related to tracking system issues and scheduling service as needed.
Please also be aware of the need to remove vehicles from the streets in the event of snowfall. The Police Department will issue reverse 9-1-1 and Nixel notifications as needed in regards to vehicle relocation or any other essential communication.
Residents are reminded to have an appropriate supply of prescription medication on hand, adequate food supply, and should top off all gas tanks prior to the weather event. Residents are also encouraged to have a supply of cash on hand.
The Township will issue alters and notifications on the web site, through Email Blasts, reverse 9-1-1, Nixel, and will tape periodic messages on the Emergency Hotline. That number is 973-256-6538. The Township’s OEM will man the Civic Center as a warming station or shelter if needed.
