Flu Shots
Posted on Jan 16th, 2013

It’s Not Too Late for a Flu Shot
It is not too late to get your flu shot.  Influenza activity continues to increase in the United States and most of the country is now experiencing high levels of influenza-like illness.  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends influenza vaccination for people who have not yet been vaccinated this season and antiviral treatment as early as possible for people who get sick and are at high risk of flu complications.
The Clifton Health Department is offering seasonal flu vaccination clinics every Wednesday from 2 PM – 4 PM at the Health Department, 2nd floor in City Hall, 900 Clifton Avenue. This is the regular flu shot that is given each year.  The seasonal flu vaccination is effective for only one year, so last year’s flu shot will not protect you this year.  Appointments are required.  Participants must register by going to njpublichealth.com or by calling 973-470-5760.  If you have any questions regarding whether or not you should receive this vaccine, please consult your private physician prior to calling the Health Department for an appointment.
